The class 12 examinations of central board of secondary education (CBSE) have been cancelled. A high level review held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday decided to cancel the examinations conducted by CBSE due to COVID 19 situation across the country.
A statement was issued by prime minister’s office- “In view of the uncertain conditions due to COVID and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it was decided that class 12 Board Exams would not be held this year. It was also decided that CBSE will take steps to compile the results of class 12 students as per a well defined objective criteria in a time bound manner.”
If some students wish to take the exams, such an option would be provided to them by CBSE, as and when the situation becomes conductive, said the statement. The same option was offered last year as well.
