WTTC launches new report on digital travel post COVID-19

The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) today releases a new report on government best practices and support in adopting a common digital travel portal to enable safe and stress-free travel and reduce airport delays. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the lack of global coordination as the government began a constant patchwork of digital and paper requirements.

WTTC seeks coordination to build resilience, focus on personal health, and ensure a clear global system that will not stop overseas travel that has caused serious financial damage to the entire pandemic.

Report implements a digital travel portal by ensuring that individual health checks are performed prior to the start, not only during COVID, but also during future health crises that threaten economic and global travel and tourism. Provide the government with a blueprint on how to do it.

The portal allows travellers, for example, to electronically share digital COVID vaccination status and other required documents prior to travel.
