Dalhousie, Chamba to host 3-day dragon boat and paragliding festival after COVID lockdown

Himachal’s Dalhousie and Chamba are gearing up to organise three-day dragon boat and paragliding festivals after COVID lockdown to boost tourism in the region.

As per the authorities, both the festivals will help attract more and more visitors to both these regions. Referring to this, Chamba Deputy Commissioner DC Rana said that they have been planning to host the three-day dragon festival in Chamera Lake at Taleru. He also informed that the paragliding festival will be held in khajjiar near Dalhousie, in the month of October. Revealing more about the paragliding festival, Mr. Rana added that the administration has been informed to check out a few paragliding sites in Khajjiar, which are also tourists’ favourite spots to visit during their trip to Dalhousie.

Elaborating more on this, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the idea behind organising these festivals is to attract tourists and bring back the enthusiasm among those connected to the tourism industry in the region.

Apart from luring visitors to these beautiful spots, which are also less frequented by tourists, the administration is hoping that these events would further help in creating local job opportunities and provide support to the local economy.
