Changi Airport Group announced that operations at Terminal 2 (T2) will resume on May 29, 2022, the first phase of terminal reopening as Changi Airport prepares to meet.
Closed for renovation as of May 2020, the gradual reopening of T2 will increase Changi’s capacity. In 2024, the expansion will increase the terminal’s capacity from 5 to 28 million passengers per year.
In this first phase of T2’s gradual reopening, key touchpoints such as arrival entry, baggage claim belts, and the terminal south wing will be ready for flight. Terminal T2 will mainly serve flights arriving at peak hours by airlines operating at Terminal 3 (T3). A small number of departing T3 flights can use the gate at T2, although passengers on these flights will continue to check-in and clear their departures at T3.
