Yoga has immense potential as a complementary therapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and enormous potential for rehabilitation.Yoga can be used as a complementary therapy in the treatment of severe chronic inflammatory rheumatoid Arthritis and comorbid depression, according to a new study. In a study carried out between 2017 and 2020 on 66 patients at AIIMS, New Delhi, it was found that in these cases yoga reduced the severity and induced remission and improved the quality of life.
These study results were published in Frontiers in Psychology and support the addition of yoga as a complementary therapy to the treatment of this chronically debilitating autoimmune disease.
