Corona virus Treatment: Is Monoclonal Antibody Therapy Effective in Treating COVID-19 Patients?

The new corona virus has changed the lives of many people. The virus can easily escalate from mild to severe infections. As scientists and experts work tirelessly to find a solution to end this pandemic, they are also working to develop effective treatments for COVID-19. Is the latest treatment therapy to treat patients with mild to moderate COVID infection who are likely to develop a severe infection. Success stories can also be heard in India, where selected hospitals have started operations.

Antibodies are clones of an antibody that targets a specific antigen. They are made artificially in the laboratory and attached to the beak. SARs-COV-2 virus protein that blocks access to healthy cells and protects the body from them. Most people who recover from COVID-19 develop antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Scientists have found that these antibodies persist for at least 5 to 7 months after infection. Recent reports say two COVID-19 patients were given the monoclonal antibody drug at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi; after therapy, they recovered from the disease and were discharged within 12 hours of administration.
