Acid Reflux – Symptoms, Risk Factors, Treatment, and More

Have you ever had an uncomfortable burning sensation in your chest, mainly after eating, which is usually worse at night? Well, that’s a common condition called acid reflux, also known as heartburn. because it has “heart” in its name, it doesn’t mean it is related to heart so you can cool off! But not enough to completely ignore this condition. It is a digestive disease that occurs when some of the acid in the stomach rises up the esophagus, causing irritation to the esophagus. And if you get this condition more than twice a week, you may be diagnosed with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). This is a very common condition that can affect a person of any age, even babies show symptoms of GERD as well.

Some people can treat this condition simply by changing their lifestyle or eating habits, while others take appropriate medication and in some cases even need surgery.
